Rosedale Redux

This inspirational project is a lesson in making a (very lovely!) house a home. When the Canadian homeowners moved to Toronto after a stint living in the Middle East, they chose this updated Victorian in the Rosedale area specifically because it didn’t need major renovations. The one problem? The spaces didn’t speak to them … so we were brought in to inject their unique fashion-forward style and make the spaces work effortlessly for the busy family. We built the reimagined spaces around treasures collected on their international jaunts, plus a few equestrian motifs that resonate with the riders in the family. We designed a chic, hard-working family desk zone that helps keep everyone organized and swapped in designer lighting to add contemporary cachet. We were mindful to keep the new look consistent with the breezy Modern architecture that drew the family to the house in the first place. “Everything was very carefully chosen: the blend of family pieces and items from their travels with high-quality custom furnishings and draperies, lighting and objets d’art is truly the magic of this house,” Romina says.
