Monaco Spa

Designing an all-new look for the exteriors at Monaco Spa came with an interesting caveat: To dramatically transform the building’s aesthetic without renovating. All changes had to be decorative, not structural. First up, the design team suggested removing the dated horizontal roof overhang that chopped the quirky commercial building in half. To unify disparate elements, the designers washed the façade in creamy white, then introduced a black accents for a look as classically good-looking  as a Chanel suit. Long, lean boxwood hedges add an organic note, and their black-painted planters anchor the look. Crisp, summery striped awnings recall beach umbrellas on the French Riviera, and playful potted topiaries soften the right angles and accentuate the inviting entryway. Très chic!
